Hooker continues to set the standard of performance with the Blackheart line of engine swap system components. We are proud to offer these two engine swap transmission crossmembers for 1979-1993 Ford Mustangs, which provide an efficient way to install popular GM (LS swaps), Ford (Coyote swaps), or Tremec (LS and Coyote swaps) transmissions into these cars as part of an engine swap project. Each are designed specifically for use with Hooker Blackheart engine mounting brackets/methods and provide high-clearance exhaust arches that directly accommodate the tube bend geometry of the Hooker Blackheart headers and exhaust systems developed for engine swaps in these cars. ** Intended for use only with the specific drivetrain positioning geometry provided by Hooker Blackheart LS and Coyote engine mounting brackets/methods. Will not work with engine mounting brackets that move the engine/transmission away from the stock factory offset, or the engine/transmission mating plane away from the stock SB Ford fore/aft position. The 71222015HKR* and 71222016HKR crossmembers can be used alone, or in combination with multiple optional adapters, to install the following transmissions: 71222015HKR crossmember in LS swap applications- Powerglide, TH350 and TKO transmissions- no adapter required. 71222015HKR crossmember in Coyote swap applications-Powerglide transmission with JW Performance bellhousing- no adapter required. 71222016HKR crossmember in LS swap applications-2004R or TH400 transmissions- 12650HKR adapter required. 4L60-4L70 transmissions- 71223003HKR adapter required. 4L80/4L85 transmissions- 71223013HKR adapter required. 71222016HKR crossmember in Coyote swap applications-Ford spec T56 Magnum transmission- no adapter required. *The 71222015HKR crossmember is not installable on 1979-81 Mustangs without modifications being performed to the factory transmission crossmember receiver brackets.
